ABSTRACT
On the following day, the famous Russian critic of literature, drama, art and music, Vladimir Stasov, an eloquent champion of all things Russian, wrote in the St. Petersburg Dispatch: “Let us hope that our Slavic friends will carry the memories for a long time of the poetic sentiment, talent and skill displayed by a small but already mighty company of Russian musicians.”
