ABSTRACT
One of the aims of this book is to explore archaeology’s role in the detection and prosecution of crime within the constraints imposed by law. Archaeological evidence can be used in court, but only if it can be considered relevant and appropriate to the legal issue. In a criminal case these issues will be directed towards bringing individuals to justice by imposing a criminal penalty.
