ABSTRACT
The aim of this book is to construct bridges between, on one hand, contemporary practices of art and design for urban public spaces, and, on the other, critiques of the city generated in disciplines such as urban sociology and geography, informed by critical theories of society and culture. From this it is possible to speculate on the roles of artists and designers in urban futures.
