Understanding Architecture is the first comprehensive introduction to architecture and architectural history. It explores the experience of architecture in relation to its history and the wider context of cultures, conservation, planning and environmental issues. It introduces issues of urbanism, feminism and ethnicity, concerns which are at the forefront of current debates on architecture.
