Consumer protection and quality through standards for the UK house building industry

Abstract For more than 50 years NHBC has been the consumer protection body of the private house-building industry. It fulfils this function by setting minimum standards for quality in construction, by inspecting homes as they are built and by offering the Buildmark to protect home-buyers from serious loss.
