ABSTRACT

This chapter will be devoted to the empowering classroom practices I observed, including reflective thinking, personal disclosures, sense of ownership in the classroom and interaction, both verbal and non-verbal. In the section on interaction I will be exploring different relationships: teacher-student, studentstudent, teacher-teacher, teacher-parent, teacher-researcher, and researcherstudent relationships. The section on empowering nonverbal interaction covers touching, proximity, eye-contact and facial expressions, gestures, posture, appearance. environmental factors, and chronemics in the classroom.
