ABSTRACT

Since 1992, the Institute for Educational Transformation (IET) at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia has been teaching an innovative Masters Degree program for serving teachers, which represents a root and branch change from the traditional American experience. In 1994, Michal Zellermayer, from Levinsky College of Education, Israel attended the summer session of the American program. As a result, the problems of cultural roots and transferability were manifest as links between the institutions were explored.
