ABSTRACT
An independent Government agency for testing and research in the building and construction industry of Iceland, under the Department of Industry. Financed by Government funds and income for research projects and services. Main fields of work The Institute is the only one of its kind in the country. Its functions are divided in the following divisions: • Concrete Technology and Structural • Road Construction and Soil Mechanics • Building Technology • Cost Analyses • Geology • Information and Publications • General Administration
In most of these fields materials testing and contract research are performed. The main fields of work are the first three listed.
