ABSTRACT
Classrooms and, even more so, the pupils inside them lie at the very heart of school teaching. It is not surprising that they sometimes prove to be rather stressful environments given that thirty individuals are shut in a room together for hours on end, day in, day out, with the vast majority of them having little or no choice in the matter. And yet it is the children that the teachers, almost without exception, said made the job worthwhile.
