ABSTRACT
Stephen Weil, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, reminds us that it is not what museums claim to do that is important, rather it is what they achieve that matters. His image of the National Toothpick Museum is an excellent one and will be recognized by everyone who has questioned museums and their effectiveness.
