ABSTRACT
The first paper in this section is from the Museums and Galleries Commission (MGC). It summarizes the museum situation in the UK as they saw it in 1992. It makes the point that accurate statistics in some areas are very difficult to come by, a situation which will change when the Museums and Galleries Commission’s Directory of Museum Statistics (DOMUS) is published.
