ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter, we considered those basic human qualities that ground ethical choices in what is most natural and most fulfilling for human beings. We now move to more specific ethical systems by which the ethical content of situations may be illuminated. If we are seeking to build an ethical school we will need to develop an ethical framework which will give intelligibility to what is being designed. That is to say, we cannot start off in a scatter-shot fashion and suggest the first list of things to do that springs into our head. We need an overall framework that provides some unity and coherence to what we do.
