The autonomous communities and external relations

In our global, interdependent and at the same time regionalized world, there is an increasingly marked tendency for sub-state political entities (regions, federated states and provinces) to participate in international relations. American states, Canadian provinces, German Länder and other European regions provide many examples of such participation.
