ABSTRACT
This chapter contains brief overviews for the seven world regions. We outline what has already been concluded about recent trends and future prospects. And, drawing on additional material, we elaborate on some of the main relationships between food production and population dynamics within each of the regions. The emphasis here is more on what can plausibly be expected to happen, rather than on what needs to be done; and certain regions clearly merit greater attention than others.
