The four approaches compared
In this final chapter we have attempted to make the business of comparisons among the four approaches less odious and more interesting by presenting you with a case vignette and interviews from four well-known therapists. Mary is a real client of one of the authors (JM), who has kindly given permission for us to use her story (names and identifying details have been changed to protect the anonymity of the client). The interviews were semi-structured in that each therapist was asked identical questions. We complete the chapter by comparing their responses to these questions and using them to illustrate a number of points made in the previous chapters.
