1 An investigation into building cost relationships of the following design variables: storey height, floor loading, column spacing, number of storeys

This is National Productivity Year and it is perhaps a happy coincidence that the Wilderness Cost of Building Study Group is able at this time to submit this report. It is the result of several years of research and it is hoped that, by showing the effect on cost of certain fundamental design variables, it may lead to a greater awareness of the cost importance of the basic design concept and thus make a substantial contribution to productivity in the building industry.
