ABSTRACT

Few years ago, the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Maribor (Slovenia) applied for the Tempus project with the aim to transfer knowledge and equipment for studies of project management from the technical universities in the European Union to the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The contractor of the project was Technical University Munich (Germany) and the partners were RWTH Aachen (Germany) and TU Trento (Italy).

During the two-years duration of the project we tried to achieve the following activities:

purchase relevant literature on project management,

purchase quality software that could be used for variety of applications on project management,

purchase hardware for the needs of the university teachers and for the students,

organize lectures which would be carried-out by the university teachers from abroad,

organize several study visits of the our university teachers and students to partner universities.

The results are seen in the upgraded level of studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Additionally, a new course (Project Management in Civil Engineering) was introduced into the civil engineering study program.
