ABSTRACT
Writing in the 1930s Keynes was understandably not much concerned with change and growth in discussing the short- or medium-run behaviour of the economy. It is difficult for people now to realize how different the economy was in that period. The economy was so depressed that for a decade it showed little technological progress and growth. Hence it was not unnatural for Keynes to tend to use a statical view of analysis.
