ABSTRACT

The windowless white-walled room was divided into two in the middle by a bluepainted floor-to-ceiling metal grille with an open wicket gate in it; a small table with two plain wooden chairs was on the other side. A small man with fair curly hair and rimless glasses, wearing overalls and a black sweatshirt, he came in through a door in the back wall. He had a firm handshake and a gentle smile, and his voice was low and quiet; he rested his elbows on the table while he talked.
