ABSTRACT
Today, the Samaritans number approximately 600 individuals, half living in Nablus and the other half in olon, south of Tel Aviv.1 Their religious center is Mount Gerizim. Their religious beliefs and practices are based on the Pentateuch and are therefore in many respects identical with or close to those of Judaism. Besides the Pentateuch they have no other sacred scriptures.
