ABSTRACT

This chapter is about the inclusion of Billy Gates, a student with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), in a small Catholic School, St Pat’s. The school is in a regional centre, Toowoomba, in Queensland, the north-eastern state of Australia, a state known for its climate, beaches and barrier reef. Fictitious names are used for the family and the school. After explaining my approach to inclusion I provide details of the Australian and local educational contexts and then look at the inclusion of Billy from the perspective of his school and family. I conclude by looking at the implications of the study for the development of inclusive practice with students with ADHD.
