ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the data on parents reported in the case study chapters and identifies patterns or themes that can be discerned within these. It deals first of all with the process and perceptions of school choice. The chapter then turns to the factors that appear to inform parents’ preferences concerning schools. This latter discussion of the data provides the basis for the more theoretical development of parental value perspectives in Chapter 7.
