ABSTRACT
The thesis is often expressed that cooperation in enforcement between and among antitrust enforcement agencies is good. It is added that cooperation would be materially more effective if enforcement agencies were better able to exchange information. The chief impediment to a better framework for information exchange is the inability of an agency to obtain confidential information from another agency because of statutory or other prohibitions against disclosure of information obtained by an agency in the course of an antitrust investigation.
