ABSTRACT

Partnerships between health and local authorities for practical action to improve health by increasing the energy efficiency of housing are relatively uncommon. This chapter presents the findings from a research project looking at ten such partnerships. It begins by explaining the aims and methodology of the research before presenting a summary of the ten schemes. The barriers to multi-agency working are then discussed with suggestions for how these might be overcome. The chapter ends by recommending support that could be provided at both a national and a local level to facilitate multi-agency working, with suggestions for further work that is required in this area.
