ABSTRACT

To discuss television and politics today, when political communication relies increasingly on alternative channels, may sound a tired academic exercise, leading the discussants onto a terrain where little seems still worth being discussed. It may also appear itself an obsolete topic, which generations of scholars have repeatedly dealt with since television made its spectacular and threatening ingress into the political arenas around the world.
