ABSTRACT

A major stress for the cultural institution manager is the additional work of building construction, renovation, and rehabilitation. Construction and renovation planning are major developments for a cultural institution. What is done during the planning steps of the project affects the operation of the organization and the attitude of the visitors, staff, and volunteers. The cultural institution manager coordinates the work with the institution board, the building committee, community and financial planners, institution staff, and a variety of construction contractors. For protection managers and facility managers, construction is a time of change that results in a better and most times larger facility. Managers value the opportunity that construction provides to improve facility conditions. Every manager wants to find a better method to manage the difficult work of participating in a construction project from beginning to end.
