ABSTRACT

The pharmacist may also have clinical concerns about what has been written. A dose may be higher than usual, or the number of pills to be dispensed may be of concern. At times the pharmacist may see an aberration, crossed-out writing or some other indication that raises suspicion, and call to document the authenticity of the prescription. Some of these issues may be largely resolved in the near future as we move toward the era of computer-generated prescriptions sent directly from the clinician’s office to the pharmacy across the street or across the country.
