ABSTRACT

The fascinating phenomenon of the Society of the Muslim Brethren (jam’iyat alikhwan al-muslimin)—the fundamentalist movement which was believed to have attracted millions of followers to its radical religious vision-has been carefully examined. Observers and scholars who have analysed the Society have paid special attention to its structure and, even more, to its ideology.1
