ABSTRACT
Previously the four aspects of the letter A, the samādhi gates of Enlightenment, Practice, Perfect Enlightenment and Nirvana, were mentioned 1 . Also their significance, that is, their being Enlightenment, Practice, Perfect Enlightenment and Nirvana in nature was taught. The teaching of them causes some of the beings who are to be guided to engage in practice by means of the letters A and so on, and others to engage in practice by means of their significance. Therefore, they are taught by way of the significance of the letters so that the intrinsic nature of Enlightenment and so forth may be understood.
