ABSTRACT
I took this book along with me as bed-time reading to one of the major ‘Mozart Bicentennial’ conferences held early last year. My assumption was that reports of current research on Mozart and a book devoted to exploring the history of the idea of genius would provide interesting contexts for each other. They did, though not in the ways I’d expected.
