ABSTRACT

Spasticity is one of the most commonly encountered problems in the field of neurological rehabilitation. It can be the main factor that prevents functional mobility and a major impediment to the rehabilitation process. Untreated spasticity can easily lead to joint contractures which may cause problems in maintaining suitable postures for feeding, communication, and other important aspects of daily living. Muscle spasms can be painful and are one of the predisposing causes to the development of pressure sores.
