Cognition is influenced in many ways by sex hormones acting at different points in development. Understanding hormone effects on cognition can lead to increased understanding of the neural substrates of cognition and cognitive development more generally. This chapter summarizes the evidence that sex hormones influence cognitions, considers issues in studying this topic, and highlights some of the exciting developments in this area.
