ABSTRACT
In Chapter 4, we looked at the part that group work can play in organising teaching and learning to acknowledge and build on the diversity of experience, interests and needs within any teaching group. The approach described assumes that children have much to learn from one another as well as from the teacher, and that they benefit from the opportunity to work out ideas together through talk in a small group.
