ABSTRACT

This chapter provides practical guidance by dividing the validation process into four stages such as planning, programme development, validation, after validation. It examines the key competences that curriculum designers manage the process successfully. An investment of time in initial planning will pay enormous dividends, not least because it will create a focus for the curriculum group to come together, to start the process of team building which provides a foundation for later success. competences is a useful exercise for the centre's managers and the programme team to stand back from the process and to consider the competences and skills they will need to develop a successful submission. The role of the team leader as both facilitator and controller is quite critical to the success of the team as a whole. The process of curriculum planning will lead to a series of meetings between the design team members and other contributors such as representatives of employers and professional groups.
