ABSTRACT
Since Donne is a poet who was constructed, at an identifiable historical moment, as central to the study of English literature, and since this centrality is a result of the alleged immediate experience of an undissociated sensibility which the strong speaking voice of his masculine rhythms offers the student, he would seem an ideal candidate for a deconstructive reading.
