ABSTRACT
The Commission periodically reviews the nature of disparities between parts of the Community. The latest of these reviews-The Regions of the Enlarged Community; The Third Periodic Report on the Social and Economic Situation and Development of the Regions of the Community —was published in 1987 and research for the next periodic report is due to be completed by the end of 1990. These reports offer the most comprehensive and useful guides to the nature and intensity of regional problems within the EC.
