Holdenby in Northamptonshire (window slY), which shows similarities in the delineation of faces with the earliest miniatures in the Alphonso Psalter (BL MS Add. 24686), begun in c. 1284, and the York chapter house figural glazing.8 This treatment of bodily forms was to endure in all branches of artistic activity for nearly a century.
