ABSTRACT
As discussed in the last chapter, the rapid growth in demand for international tourism experienced in the second half of the twentieth century has resulted in the raising of ethical concerns over how the cultural and physical environments of destinations are used for tourism. This chapter considers the range of positive and negative consequences tourism can have upon the environment.
