ABSTRACT

Cable and satellite is a term commonly employed to refer to technologies that are used to transmit a range of data and information including television pictures. Cable systems are usually installed below ground. The cables connect the end user-homes or businesses-to a central point that distributes information. Cable television systems normally require some form of decoder to interpret the information and turn it into television images. Satellites are situated above the earth and beam signals which are subsequently picked up by satellite dishes attached to people’s homes.
