ABSTRACT
Tabloid television refers to a type of news and current affairs programming which effaces distinctions between public and private, serious and sensationalist, critical and sceptical. It tends to be moralistic in style and tone, blurring the lines between fact and fiction, news and entertainment (see Fiske 1992).
