ABSTRACT

Teamworking and collaboration have been buzz-words in the construction industry for several years. But where is the evidence of their application in education?

Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) is one of the few academic institutions in the UK where the full range of design and construction disciplines is taught. Peculiarly, the Schools of Art, Architecture and Design (AAD) and the School of the Built Environment are both in the Faculty of Health and Environment. In addition, the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, construction and project management, building surveying, quantity surveying, civil and structural engineering, and urban planning all occupy the same building.
