ABSTRACT
Introduction Lambeth is associated in the minds of many with the riots in Brixton of 1981. To those working with young black people in the area, Lambeth is not atypical of many inner-city areas; it merely serves to highlight some of the problems that exist, perhaps on a smaller scale, in other areas.
