ABSTRACT
Macho culture is a controversial and complex area. It is not my intention in this book to do a complex analysis of it. But it is important to demonstrate that teenage girls and boys are bombarded with information and images that both encourage and reinforce macho-style behaviour. It is hardly surprising they import it into one of their most important social settings – their relationships in school.
