ABSTRACT
The preceding chapter has provided an account of the contemporary landscape of planning theory.1 The purpose of the present chapter is to provide an introduction to the practice of collaborative planning, including the theoretical bases to collaborative planning practices and the critiques that have developed during the latter part of the 1990s. The chapter outlines several of the key concepts premised by the collaborative planning framework and also presents some of the difficulties that arise in incorporating collaborative planning principles in practice.
