ABSTRACT

After children experience personal or public trauma, they often feel alone and different. Frightened because their once comfortable world now seems unpredictable and unsafe, they may react in ways that we as adults can truly not judge, understand, or anticipate. All too often I hear children and teens say, “No one understands what I have been through. There is no one I can talk to. I feel weird and I just want to feel normal.”
