ABSTRACT

Auditing is one of the most rigorous tools at the service of management, and it is the cornerstone of internal control. Internal control 1 is the process by which the board, senior executives, and other levels of supervision want to assure themselves, insofar as possible, that what is done in their organization conforms to plans and policies — and that management control is exercised in an effective manner.
