ABSTRACT

The successful implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is inseparable from the usage of a companywide, streamlined accounting system. This is why so much emphasis is placed on accounting and on the auditing of a company’s books in the preceding chapters of Section III. The synergy between ERP and accounting can be seen from different perspectives:

Both systems act as measurements, thereby as aids in better management through dependable metrics.

Both are a means of communication, conveying the facts of business to all levels of management.

Both provide the tools for planning and controlling the distribution of the fruits of production.
