ABSTRACT
To develop effective solutions in complex problem-solving and achieve high-performance system design, one must begin to see interrelationships rather than simply cause-and-effect chains. One must also look for processes of change rather than snapshots. For this reason, while this chapter starts with snapshots for the sake of clarity, it proceeds with interrelationships whose appreciation, in the longer run, will be more beneficial to the reader.
