ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses three applications that integrate with Photoshop directly to create three-dimensional (3D) content: DAZ 3D Studio Bridge plug-in, Strata 3D CX Suite, and 3DVIA. Before Adobe announced the 3D feature in Photoshop CS3 a few years ago, there were many third-party applications and plug-ins that tried to bridge the gap between Photoshop and 3D content. The DAZ Studio 3D plug-in provides full control over the integration of Photoshop and DAZ Studio to allow animators to import DAZ Studio content into Photoshop. Strata provides different 3D solutions, and its tools integrate directly with Photoshop and allow animators to export their Strata 3D project to Photoshop easily. The 3DVIA Photoshop plug-in provides an easy interface to search for models either in the 3DVIA store or the community submissions, where users upload their models to the site. The imported 3D layer is fully editable with the Photoshop 3D tools and 3D panel.
