Frequency weighting involves emphasizing/suppressing certain parts of the
spectrum of an audio signal. There are two reasons for using frequency
weighting:
l To take the human perception of sound into account when measuring and
specifying sound levels (acoustic) or the internal noise of devices and
systems (electrical).
